WHAT DO WE STAND FOR? THE LIBERATION OF THE HUMAN SPIRIT

Robert F. Kennedy
Presidential Nominee; United States Senator (D-NY); former U.S. Attorney General; Author, The Enemy Within: The McClellan Committee's Crusade Against Jimmy Hoffa and Corrupt Labor Unions

Club Introduction

This large overflow crowd is certainly an indication of the esteem and the interest in which our speaker is held. It's my pleasure to introduce to you a man who is really known to all by his activities on the political scene, through television, radio and the press. Many of you will recall that he has previously spoken to The Commonwealth Club of California when, in 1959, as chief council for the McClellan Committee, he gave a stirring talk on the investigation of crime rackets.

Mr. Kennedy is a graduate of Harvard University, holds a number of degrees from other universities, was admitted to the practice of law in the state of Massachusetts in 1951, and subsequently served as attorney general of the United States in 1961 to 1964. In 1954, he was named one of ten outstanding young men in the United States by the United States Junior Chamber of Commerce. He has been the recipient of numerous awards and has authored three books. Without trespassing further on the time allotted to our speaker, it is my pleasure to introduce to you the junior senator from our second largest state, Senator Robert F. Kennedy of New York.
