In conversation with Dr. Mary Bitterman, President Bernard Osher Foundation; Member, Commonwealth Club Board of Governors
Long before there was “Shark Tank,” there was inventor Maurice Kanbar. San Francisco resident Kanbar’s inventions include a broad range of items: the D-Fuzz-It sweater comb, customizable sticky notes called Zip Notes, SKYY Vodka, the first multiplex movie theater in New York and durable, cheap eyeglasses for people in developing countries. He has been called a modern day Buckminster Fuller, with 35 patents over 40 years. In 2006, he even produced his first feature film, the animated Hoodwinked! followed by Hoodwinked Too! Hood vs. Evil. Here’s a rare chance to meet one of America’s most creative minds and see his creations up close.
