Meet the man who thrust ACORN into controversy. Or maybe now you better know him better as the man responsible for the latest political scandal, dubbed the “Louisiana Watergate.” Last year, O'Keefe captured footage of employees of ACORN (the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now) apparently advising a pimp and prostitute (O'Keefe and an ally, undercover) to evade taxes, conceal illegal money and traffic in underage girls. With attention from blogs and TV news commentators, scandal erupted, leading to the Congress cutting funding from the nonprofit ACORN. And just a few days ago, O’Keefe leapt back into the spotlight when he was arrested for allegedly attempting to tamper with the phones of Louisiana Senator Mary Landrieu. As O’Keefe prepares to face the felony charges confronting him, don’t miss this discussionIs this the future of journalism? Is this journalism at all, or stunt advocacy? Find out.
