Women in National Security
Anja Manuel, Co-founder and Partner, Rice Hadley Gates LLC; Former Senior Official, US Department of State; Lecturer, Stanford University
Lauren Webster, Director, The Chertoff Group; Intelligence Officer, U.S. Navy Reserve
Women in national security roles are becoming increasingly common – three of the last five secretaries of state have been women, as have two of the last three UN ambassadors. Only a generation ago this was unheard of, so what changed? Who are these women who are crafting our foreign and defense policies? More important, how are they transforming national and international security? Come hear former State Department senior official Anja Manuel and Lauren Webster of the Chertoff Group speak about their perspectives on women in the seat of power.
