Janice Li on The Michelle Meow Show 1/31/19
Join us as Michelle Meow brings her long-running daily radio show to The Commonwealth Club one day each week. Meet fascinating—and often controversial—people discussing important issues of interest to the LGBTQ community, and have your questions ready.
This week's guest: Janice Li
Janice Li was recently elected to the BART board of directors, representing the western half of San Francisco. She is currently the only queer Asian American woman in elected office in the Bay Area (and possibly the state). Janice has spent nearly a decade working as a community organizer, working for community-based nonprofits in Buffalo, NY and in San Francisco. She currently serves as the advocacy director of the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition, where she leads organizing, policy and legislative work. Janice was born in Hong Kong and moved to the United States at a young age. She currently lives in the Outer Sunset and considers herself a regular bicycle commuter and a transit enthusiast.
