Evening from the Archives: Black History Month Special with Dr. Ibram X. Kendi

In honor of Black History Month, we’re diving into our archives to bring back some of our favorite and most impactful Commonwealth Club programs of the last few years. From Dr. Ibram X Kendi talking about his groundbreaking book, How to Be an Antiracist, with Alicia Garza in 2019 to Stacey Abrams discussing the fight for voting rights with "Pod Save America"’s Dan Pfeiffer last year, we’ve been honored to host some of the brightest and most influential Black speakers.

We’re kicking off this series by re-visiting one of our favorite programs in the last few years. In 2019, Dr. Ibram X. Kendi, founder of the Center for Antiracist Research and a professor at Boston University, joined us in San Francisco to discuss his just-published work, How to Be an Antiracist, with Alicia Garza, co-founder of the Black Lives Matter movement. In the wake of George Floyd’s tragic murder last year, Dr. Kendi’s work has become an indispensable tool for educators, activists, and everyone fighting for equality in America.

Join us for an Evening from the Archives special, and join the live chat to talk about the program and the club with other members and supporters.
