Evening From the Archives: Women's History Month Special with Astronaut Mae Jemison
In honor of Women’s History Month, we’re diving into our program archives throughout the month of March to highlight some of our staff favorites from the last few years. From Mae Jemison, the first Black woman to travel to space and a tireless advocate for women's involvement in STEM education, to Madeleine Albright, the first woman to serve as U.S. secretary of state, we’ve been honored to have trailblazing women join us onstage over the years.
This week, join us to watch our program with Astronaut Mae Jemison, the first Black woman to venture into space. She joined Kimberly Bryant, founder and CEO of Black Girls Code, for a conversation about breaking barriers and getting more girls, young women and minorities into careers in science, tech, engineering and math (STEM). Since going to space in 1992, Dr. Jemison has been inducted into the National Women's Hall of Fame and the International Space Hall of Fame, formed a nonprofit educational foundation, and appeared on an episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation.
Join us for an Evening from the Archives special, and join the live chat to talk about the program and the Club with other members and supporters.
