Reading Californians Book Discussion: Lizzie Johnson's 'Paradise'
Everyone in California is well-aware of the formidable wildfires that we have faced in the last several years. Washington Post staff writer Lizzie Johnson lived in Paradise, California, while writing Paradise: One Town's Struggle to Survive an American Wildfire. The gold medal winner of The Commonwealth Club's 2022 California Book Awards non-fiction award, this book reads like an action thriller with personal stories, background on how CalFire works, and exciting vignettes.
Please join us via Zoom to hear Johnson talk about her research and the time spent in Paradise doing the research for this book.
